Meters, batteries and solar inverters
Three device types plug into circuits. Each has its own list page, a generated name you will meet in logs (M0001, B0001, SI0001), a live-data view, a licensing card, and an audit panel.
Smart meters
A meter measures the real consumption of a feed — the ground truth DLM steers against.
- Register the meter with its vendor/model and, for mobile-data meters, the SIM ICCID.
- Define the measurands the device reports (voltage, current, power… per phase). The live tab then shows readings as they arrive, which is the quickest install check.
- Device credentials entered for remote configuration are stored for the integration and never shown again — audit entries note a password change happened without recording the value.
Batteries
A battery lets DLM shave peaks: it discharges when the site nears its limit and recharges when quiet or cheap.
Configuration is the battery's physical truth: capacity and usable capacity (Wh), maximum charge/discharge power (W) and rates, and the reserve percentage DLM must leave untouched. The live tab shows state of charge and current mode.
Solar inverters
An inverter tells the platform about on-site production. Max power output, panel tilt and orientation feed the production forecast smart energy management plans around.
Housekeeping
- Attach each device to the circuit level where it physically sits; a meter on the wrong sub-circuit blinds DLM to part of the load.
- Devices carry platform licenses like stations do — the licensing card on each detail page shows cover.
- Configuration changes (limits, capacities, circuit moves, ownership) land in each device's Audit panel.
